BenedictXVI.com
I learned from a Download.com blog that Rogers Cadenhead, a techie guy from Florida, USA, registered BenedictXVI.com a few weeks before Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger became the new pope.
Those who worry about what he’ll do with the domain would be relieved to know that he promised not to sell it to pornographers.
“For the love of God, people, that’s not going to happen. I will be running any plans I have for this domain by my own Catholic doctrinal enforcer, my never-miss-a-Sunday grandmother Rita,” Rogers wrote on his blog.
In fact, he’s now using the domain name to support ModestNeeds.org, a non-profit organization helping people with unexpected financial emergencies. BenedictXVI.com redirects to a ModestNeeds.org page that also links to the Vatican.
