The Pinoy Dream

I passed by in front of GMA TV Network building this afternoon and was amused at the crowd of young people gathered there. It must be another day of StarStruck audition. Too many teenagers want to follow the footsteps of Mark Herras, Jennylyn Mercado, Rainier Castillo, and Yasmien Kurdi.

In this desperate times we are living in, it seems that the young Filipinos’ national dream is to become a movie and television star. How sad!

    It saddens me that people choose to capitalize on their bodies (and their so-called “talent”) rather than their intelligence. But I think that beauty gets us somewhere (though not everywhere), but it can only get us so far. People are after the easier way to make money, considering how tough life is nowadays. It’s depressing. *sigh*
